Become an Ally: When Interpersonal Harassment Bleeds into the Workplace
Tuesday 06/25/2024 12:30 PM - 01:30 PM   Add to calendar

Competencies: Interpersonal (Behavioral), Workplace (Technical) | Intended Audience: Early Career, Mid-Level
Workplace Application:
Attendees will learn how to better protect themselves, their employees/colleagues, and clients/customers against threats of violence and how to facilitate a workplace culture that invites its employees to come forward with information that could lead to potential violence in the workplace.

Workplace violence is on the rise. Sadly, it oftentimes starts at home.  Join Kris for an emotional journey through the experiences people face when interpersonal harassment invades their workplaces.  Kris will arm you with information and resources to protect yourselves, your colleagues/employees, and your customers, and will inspire you to make a difference when possible.

Learning Objectives:

  • Identify the obstacles (real and perceived) that often cause employees facing harassment in their personal lives not to report their experiences (and how to overcome those obstacles).
  • Learn how to become an ally who supports and contributes to a workplace culture that cares about its employees experiencing out-of-the office harassment.
  • Learn how to protect yourselves, your workplace, and your clients from people who engage in harassing behavior.
