But this unlikely pair bridges differences of race, class, gender and education to offer a nourishing example of human connection and a hopeful message about inclusion and belonging. The story of their friendship - and the actual stew they cooked together -shows what's possible when people from distant social worlds meet each other with patience, vulnerability, humility and compassion -not to mention a big dash of playfulness.
